December 2009-The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that Sanofi Pasteur was recalling approximately 800,000 doses of the pediatric influenza A (H1N1) single-dose monovalent vaccine in the 0.25 ml prefilled syringe due to lower than required antigen content levels. Diet and Depression
A recent study from University College, London, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, ( Br J Psychiatry. Nov 2009;195:408–413: Abstract ) suggests that individuals who consume a diet rich in high-fat dairy products and fried, refined, and high sugar foods, are at increased risk of depression, compared to those whose diet is rich in fish, fruits, and vegetables. This is the first study to look at the effect of dietary patterns on depression. (see News2)
